Louisbourg/Indigenous tour

Embark on a journey back in time as we visit the historic French Fortress of Louisbourg. Our adventure begins at the Joan Harris Pavilion in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. From there, we will travel to the Fortress of Louisbourg, a rare living museum where costumed interpreters bring the 1700s to life as French soldiers and villagers—we will even be able to witness the thrilling spectacle of a cannon firing as it did in the past. 

Afterward, we'll move onward to the picturesque beach of Main-à-Dieu and the village’s quaint fishing harbour , where you can soak in the stunning coastal views.

For lunch, we'll visit Tom & Ett’s Kitchen to pick up one of their world famous donairs or food of your liking. We'll then take our delicious meal to the Indigenous Cultural Center, Membertou Heritage Park, where you can enjoy your lunch surrounded by rich cultural history. After eating, you'll have the opportunity to explore the Heritage Park learning about the the history and vibrant traditions of the Indigenous people of the Membertou community.

Our next stop is the Jost Heritage House, where you'll delve deeper into the region's fascinating past. Lastly, we'll return to the cruise ship, at the pavilion, giving you ample time to visit local shops.
